The Otay Ranch – Village 8 project include the design of 10 intersections within the Village 8 community.  The plan set also included interconnect and fiber communication details.  The project’s main challenge was focused on construction coordination as the new tenants were moving into their homes. The project included one-way roadways, community on-street parking and pedestrian pathways that were included in the traffic signal designs. The traffic engineering design package included Traffic Signal plans, special provisions, probable construction costs, plan processing, and meeting support. Video detection was prominently used in the traffic signal designs, which provides the community with more reliable and effective vehicle detection. The traffic signal designs were provided state-of-the-art technology and met all City current requirements. LIN Consulting also provided construction support by answering bid questions, responding to RFI submittals and attending site meetings when requested.
