The Otay Ranch – Village 8 project include the design of 10 intersections within the Village 8 community.  The plan set also included interconnect and fiber communication details.  The project’s main challenge was focused on construction coordination as the new tenants were moving into their homes. The project included one-way roadways, community on-street parking and pedestrian pathways that were included in the traffic signal designs.  Video detection was prominently used in the traffic signal designs, which provides the community with more reliable and effective vehicle detection.  The traffic signal designs were provided state-of-the-art technology and met all City current requirements.

LIN Consulting prepared signing and striping plans along Exploration Falls Drive and Windgingwalk Street in conjunction with the construction of the new Enrique S. Camarena Elementary School. In addition, LIN Consulting was asked to identify any traffic and pedestrian circulation issues in anticipation of the school’s opening day. The project included an all-way stop controlled intersection, an uncontrolled, midblock crosswalk at the entrance for buses, and lighting recommendations. The project included close coordination with the City of Chula Vista and school officials.
